A key difference is that these great players possess tremendous mental skills along with their tennis talent and physical skills. A student typically starts playing tennis for recreation and health and once they learn the right techniques and fundamentals and start showing keen interest in the game, they start playing serious tennis. At this juncture, it is important for the player to know that playing tennis is not only about technique and physical skills, but it is also to do with their mental skills and its training. |

Sports Psychology helps players who pursue serious tennis to understand that one can develop their mental skills and apply the same during a match or a game. For exam[le, if a player has been consistently getting angry and frustrated after hitting bad shots and this is affecting his game, then mental training will help him overcome this anger and deal more positively with his game. Mental training skills are very simple, but can be extremely powerful. |

Mental tennis sessions will be conducted at the Kinesis office at AECS Layout
(located at 1630, E Block,6th Main) and will be limited to two sessions a month and six students per group. We will charge Rs 500 per month in addition to the tennis fees. We are introducing the Mental Tennis programme on an ongoing basis as we believe that the training received by the students can help them in their daily activities both on and off the tennis courts. |
